Shipping Container Village Launches Summer Festival

Cheshire Oaks’ brand-new shipping container village is preparing to host lots of fun events this summer, including a live music competition.

Under the Oak launched earlier this spring, offering a double-decked restaurant and bar, with a roof terrace, outdoor seating, and vintage carousel.

The trendy eatery is situated in a two-storey shipping container, and serves street food, from gyros to wood-fired pizzas.

This summer, it will host its Under the Oak Festival, celebrating musicians from around the north-west by encouraging aspiring artists to enter a competition.

Not only will they be able to experience live performances in front of an audience, but they could be in with a chance to win £250 in gift vouchers at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks, The Manc reported.

General manager at the designer outlet Kenny Murray said: “Not only is [Under the Oak] a great place to relax, connect with friends and soak up the summer sun, we are thrilled to be able to provide a platform for local musicians to thrive after a trying few years for the industry.”

Those interested in taking part can share a link to their Soundcloud or social media channel on the Cheshire Oaks Facebook post.

The up-and-coming artists who are selected from the entrants will take to the stage at the hipster venue in June.

Mr Murray added the restaurant is not only a fantastic choice to listen to live music, but an ideal choice for those “on the lookout for the best places to grab some great food or drink in the sunshine”.
